Pallets?

What is a pallet? The true definition of a pallet is a flat transport structure made of wood or plastic (and in a few cases metal and paper) which can support a variety of goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift or other jacking device. The goods are placed on top of the pallet, and can be secured to it by straps or stretch-wrapped plastic film. A pallet is sometimes called a skid. A Standard pallet measures about 40 inches by 48 inches by 5 inches. Are you selling Pallets? Well… yes and no. What we are selling is merchandise that is stacked on pallets. In the liquidation industry, the term pallet is used to refer to a “pallet of merchandise”. In dealing with reverse logistics, retailers and manufacturers are left with the problem of merchandise that falls outside the realm of their business model. We buy this merchandise and resell it at pennies on the wholesale dollar to discount stores, wholesalers, ebayers, flea market vendors, or anyone who wishes to sell for a profit. We sell merchandise in bulk, meaning the minimum purchase would be a “pallet of merchandise” or a “lot” of clothing and/or accessories. Is this merchandise new? We offer closeouts and overstocks, vendor returns and customer returns. Closeouts and overstocks are, for all practical purposes, new merchandise, meaning that it has not been sold at the retail level. There is the possibility of some freight or handling damages, but it should be very little. Vendor returns are products returned by the retailer to the vendor. This could be because of blemishes, damaged packaging or freight/handling damage to name a few. Catalog returns are items that have been purchased by a customer and then sent back to the catalog company for any number of different reasons. The item may have been delivered late; buyers’ remorse or it may have been damaged during shipping. On many occasions, however, it is simply returned because the customer does not like the item or because it is not what they thought it would be. Generally speaking, catalog returns are very clean. Customer returns, like catalog returns, are items that have been purchased by a customer and then brought back to the store for any number of different reasons; the item may missing a part, they found it cheaper somewhere else, buyers remorse or doesn’t work just to name a few. On many occasions, however, it is simply returned because the customer does not like the item or because it is not what they thought it was. Typically you can make more profit with customer returns, because your cost is so low, but you generally will have to work some of the merchandise (e.g. order missing parts, repair broken pieces etc.) What types of merchandise can I buy? We have a great selection of profitable merchandise including mixed assorted general merchandise, electronics, sporting goods, tools, furniture, giftware, home accessories, linens/domestics, designer apparel, designer shoes, clothing accessories and much more. Example: The merchandise is available by truckload and “most of the time” by the pallet, fob our warehouse, at just pennies on the wholesale dollar. I say “most of the time” because some customers will have us build custom loads from pallets they select in our warehouse and there are times when demand is so high that there is just simply not enough merchandise availability to keep pallets of everything stocked.
